Staff work with students to develop Individual Pathway Plans (IPP) during their schooling. These plans help staff and students with a planned transition through school. The IPP’s incorporate the WA Curriculum as well as extra programs such as Workplace Learning, Certificate courses both at school and at Southern Regional TAFE, Bush Rangers, swimming, Community Work Crew, Containers for Change, World of Work and School Work Crew.
We offer some Year 10, 11 and 12 student’s opportunities to participate in both Auspice and VETdSS courses through South Regional TAFE and ACTIV Pathways RTO (51960), as a continuation of their pathways. The SIT20322 Certificate II in Hospitality is run over a full day with seven year 10 students and two year 11 students participating in 2024. This course will be run over two years. These students run a successful coffee Enterprise in order to embed and practice these skills.
In 2024 ASESC continues to maintain a strong relationship with Southern Regional TAFE with three students participating in VETdSS (VET in Schools) courses. One student is participating in the Certificate II in Hospitality and one student participating in the Certificate II in Building and Construction.
